possibilities

Day 5 to Day 7

Don't you just feel awesome when you eat fresh? Sounds like a Subway commercial I know.  This project is all about eating fresh,  being healthy and exercising.  I'm feeling alot more tired than normal but maybe its because I'm exercising more and trying to do at least 3 - 4 kms a day or at least every 2nd day. I'm eating alot of allowable berries, fresh raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, delish!

Weighing in today, after 7 days on the Celebrity Slim programme. OMGosh I have LOST 5KGs in 7 days, what the......"

I am absolutely bewildered! I have never dieted before, and this just seems too easy. Holy cow. I am so stoked, (happy in other words).  Oh man, the possibilities... I'm so excited about the future possibilities and what the future holds. A new ME.

First week summary:- Craved bread on day three, headaches day four and excessive thirst from day 3 onwards.  A change in bathroom habits...hupp- humm'... Needed to drink more water and limit any alcohol.  Worth every part, to feel this good and have lost so much excessive weigh.

Five kilograms FREE to good home, no longer needed or wanted. 'As is, where is'. No return policy.

Notes from my CS diary.. .day 2 onwards

Hey hey everyone,

Here are my exerts from my Celebrity Slim diary

Day 2

Having the banana shake for breakie, which is so yum, followed by the mint-choc snack bar 2 hrs later, and afternoon snack. Decided to have a lunch meal on day two using fresh salmon cutlets no skin or bone ready for stir fry accompanied by a big salad, saving the shake for dinner time.

I'm finding that I'm sweating more while I work around the house, which I guess is a good thing, but I just hate sweating, so trying to keep my body abit cooler. I notice cravings for sugar, and bread. I'm desperate too loose weight,  I feel like its been a hard day with the lack of starch.

Day 3

Woke with a migraine this morning, apparently quite normal with dieting and a little bit, err, ummm 'blocked',  if u know what I mean, and man do i feel like bread!  After a breakfast bar and an apple 2 hrs later, I had bacon and 2 eggs for lunch. Man this diet rocks... bacon n eggs? go figure...

I went for two big walks today equaling approximately 10 kilometers, along the beach, pacing it out in the sand.

Chocolate shake for dinner followed by strawberries for my pm snack... feeling a little naughty I dad have some wine tonight, but i see I'm allowed 3 glasses per week... Can you save them up and have 3 glasses in one night? hmmmm...

I must also say that today was extremely hard on the bread front... I live near a bakery, and usually pass it to and from home, today I had to totally avoid it, I want a cheese and marmite scroll!!!!!!
I swear if I see anyone carrying a loaf of fresh bread I will run them down and steal it! lol
joking of course but man that is how I felt.

Day 4

Ive decided that I don't want to drink alcohol while doing this journey with Celebrity Slim. I want to be hard on myself and do this well. Maybe just the odd bit here and there.

Minimal exercise today, resting my body abit after yesterdays mammoth walk. Nothing out of the ordinary in the meal front just my scheduled shakes and snacks etc...

I'm understanding the importance of avoiding bread, I'm missing it and I'm finding it hard not to have it.

I know I know.. hang in there, I'm sure the first week is the hardest.

Day of reckoning, C.S we we come!

Right, here we go...

Checklist:

Support person, instigator and dear dear friend: Tracey.... CHECK
Shakes and shaker.... CHECK
C.S Diary....CHECK
Made a shelf clear for all the healthy options in the fridge....CHECK
OK, the time has come for a measure up, and at this point I'm wondering whether to share this just yet as I am slightly embarrassed. Maybe I can leave that out for another few weeks if you don't mind. Thanks Tracey for taking the measurements and weighing me, (since I'm anti scales and don't own any... which will soon change), OMGosh again... am I really that heavy..S#@!. its gotta go!

I almost need a contract with myself to ensure my success I thought. So I said to myself...

Dear Kerry

How are you? I'm fine... lol - NOT.  Please reduce alcohol intake and avoid bread at all costs, this is your enemy. If you sight bread in any shape, form or smell... reject it. Do not pass over to the dark side. The force is strong inside you kerry, I feel it.

Day 1

03 January 2012

Breakfast 1x CS Banana replacement shake :- YUM, are they supposed to taste this good? delish.
2hrs later, Snake time, I'll go with the CS Choco-mint snack bar, and again YUM... WTF, this is too good to be true, these taste awesome, are you sure I'm not going to be putting weight on? hmmmm
2hrs after that its my lunch time, hmmm the choices... let me see... I'm going with the CS Chocolate shake. 2hrs from that another CS snack bar, choc-mint again, and now time for a walk. Went for a 65minute walk through Pukekura Park, and also did some gardening, weed pulling, working up a sweat.
I felt full, alert and ok about this CS decision... I'm excited about a new ME, and I want to reduce my BMI to a healthy 23(ish) instead of my obese 32(grrrrrr...)
Fresh salmon chunks no skin or bones, lightly sauteed in a little pure butter with a big salad, capsicum sprouts avocado and strawberry mixed through, holy cow that is yummy.  I felt like something sweet after dinner so went for the low-fat non sweetened natural yoghurt and strawberries (which is one of my favorite fruits anyway) thought I'd be brave and try carrots with peanut butter on... ewwww Yuck. Nah didn't like that idea. But what I do love is the idea we can eat peanut butter, in moderation obviously. great!

Increase water intake, limit my coffees to Three per day and/or coke zero to three glasses per day...easy.

a Celebrity Slim encounter - weighing it up!

It all started with a quick lunch and catch up with a good friend "Tracey" at a seaside cafe. After the formalities were over - a cider in the sun in other words, while talking about our families, we hoed into our lunch.  I ordered a seafood platter, but also managed to finish Tracey's bread for her, loving bread not knowing yet how bad it can be for me. Tracey mentioned this 'diet' thing she was on. Ive never been one to diet, I didn't see the need to make a deal of weight or being over weight, wouldn't even have scales in the house..  always thought we are what we are, which is true to some extent but its also about being healthy and happy. Ensuring we are around to see our kids and grand kids grow, not killing ourselves with ignorance about health or self loathing and self medicating with food. I listened to Tracey and I was interested. I have always been lucky enough to eat what I wanted in the past, as I stayed fairly active and tried to counter balance any 'naughty' foods with a walk, not that this always happened.  Tracey continued to inform me of how much weight her sister had lost on Celebrity Slim, but also how well she was doing with her weight loss and how well she was feeling within herself. Right, I thought, with that said, I was all ears!  After a stressful year within my own life in 2011, I was ready for something positive, something easy to help me feel better within myself and the way I looked. I was feeling down about alot of things some of which are story's I'll save for a rainy day to share. Though one being the fact I had been trouser shopping and found myself not fitting the standard NZ woman's size 16 so well anymore, only tightly. I refuse to believe I was a size 18 but truth be known, ya know, I probably was - well at least on my butt... OMG I thought, why the hell arnt these pants fitting me,  maybe these were made over seas I thought where their sizes are alot smaller, I tried to justify it to myself.... No kerry,  you have a train following you I thought to myself... it was my "ass' following me. Looking in the mirror as I changed I thought OMG that cant be me, those thighs arnt mine, they belong to a 70 year old woman ( no offence to all the woman in this prime of their life) but honestly I looked like... sighhhh... my body looked older than my age.  I'm only 5 foot 2 inches, ( 5'3" if anyone asks), and my weight ( which I'll tell you later how much I weighed),  was making me feel blahhhhhh. I'm a 37year old Mother of two beautiful healthy daughters 10yrs and 7yrs. Wife, and business co owner, office manager, homemaker and kid taxi... and... and....and, the list goes on.  I had been denying the reality of my body.  Initially thinking it not to be a big deal... until now.  Ready for a change, this was it! Time for change, Time for a new me, and Time to focus on me.
No, not a mid life crisis, just a mid life review I like to call it.  2012 - IS going to be a year for success, and happiness and most of all 'less of me'.

After lunch Tracey took me to the store which sold Celebrity Slim, we chatted to the staff and decided on the deal that was on offer, and snapped it up ready for action. I have never brought a diet programme before, this was it, no turning back. I wouldn't want to throw away the money I just spent, I wouldn't want to let my friend down but most of all  I didn't want to let myself down. I had to do this, I needed to do this, for me, for my family, for my health, for my happiness. My family need to see me care about myself, show them how to look after themselves and make good choices by seeing me do it.  Do something positive for myself. I want to live a long and healthy, happy life. If I carried on like I was, then who knows if I would ever have seen that.  I needed to do this journey, I wanted to do this journey. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope that some part of my experiences that you read about will inspire or help you or someone in someway.
                                                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a kid growing up, my mother seemed to always be on some diet, discussing her diet with her good friend who also joined in, they sat at the breakfast bar eating cheese and crackers drinking coffee and 'fagging' as we would say ( other wise known as smoking...). What a laugh, looking back now we laugh and chuckle about their theories behind their dieting,  I don't even know if there was a real one.
I knew that if I was serious about this "diet" thing, I didn't want to starve myself or hurt, punish or abuse my body. I needed to do it the right way, the healthy way.
Celebrity Slim, here we go.
